Comment:

I know I'm not known for my extensive Prog Rock collection, but I wanted to put together a little something for an old-school prog fan friend of mine, so I assembled what little actual prog I had with bands that have a proggy feel, or which were probably influenced by the first wave of 70s prog rock. I think it came out pretty well, and I really hope he likes it. I figured this would be a great way to introduce him to some newer or slightly more obsucre stuff as well.

Prog rocks! Or doesn't necessarily, but, uhm, well, yes...This mix is excellent. Love the Eno, Youngs, Pink Floyd, Frith and Amps for Christ picks especially.

Brilliant take on a prog' mix Madame d'Insect! (Extra points for avoiding Yes by design or lack thereof.)Funny seeing Emitt Rhodes in this context but I know you know what you're doing...count me amongst the prior gang of Four in a praise chorus...everyone needs a little proggy musics...at times.

Yeah, I realize that Emitt is NOT a progger, but that song has such a lush sound that it really melded well with the other tracks, besides, I really love that song. =)

Very nice selections. Sunny Day Real Estate (especially anything from "The Rising Tide") and the Dismemberment Plan would fit in very well, too.

This is neat - a proggy mix that isn't really proggy. I like it. And sorry Valis, I've been listening to the first Yes album lately - so take that! Well done, Bugsy. We'll make a card-carrying Proggie of you yet.
