Comment:

My little tribute to one of the best films of the 70s, The Warriors. More of a gangsploitation flick than anything else, this film is still a lot of fun to watch for laughs and action. The other NYC gang flick of 1979, The Wanderers, already has a tribute mix made for it. Anyway, this was a good excuse to put the Tangerine Dream-like soundtrack with some 70's and other hard rock.

This certainly does capture the movie's feel.

Not sure why I find myself chuckling as I think about the movie...and yup-- I think The Warriors beats out The Godfather and Jaws by a long shot. Take that Coppola and Speilberg! :-)

Well done, Stripey.

LOL, I dunno if it's better than Jaws or the Godfather, both movies I love, but it sure captures the feel of the late 70s better :)

CAN YOU DIG IT?!?When I was around 15 a friend and I walked over 5 miles to see the Warriors at a midnight show. Shortly afterwards we went through a very pathetic "baseball bat twirling" phase. I used to play the soundtrack all the time, even though it was actually pretty crappy (you did a much better job). Great mix. Thin Lizzy fits in perfectly. As does the AC/DC and Dwarves picks. Shit, it's all good. Pop Will Eat Itself sample the movie very liberally on their This is the Day... album, namely on "Can U Dig It".

Oh yeah, I stuck Ajax's line "I'll stick that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle" right before TNT. :)
