Compiled after our first visit in 3 months and before another separation of at least another five. She's kind of a sentimentalist. If you're like me, it's hard to put yourself in the mind of the person for
whom the tape is intended without imposing your own tastes, somewhat brutally. She likes music well
enough, but finds my passion for it a bit intimidating and my knowledge of it a bit of a turn-off (I mean, she obviously likes me well enough, but not for reasons like that). So I feel the need to include a few familiar names, even songs by artists I'd rarely seize upon for a tape for myself. But knowing that there are songs by Shawn Colvin and the Indigo Girls will probably reassure her in the midst of some unfamiliar folks.
