Comment:
Love, longing, loss, long distance love ... ambivalence, anger, longing, it's all here. Oh, those first few weeks of separation ... don't they go on forever, night and day forever?Well, the Bud Powell that closes this is, for my money, absolutely the saddest, loneliest, most wistful 2 minutes of anything I have ever heard. You will find your heart in your hand, broken, by the end of it.
Kudos and thanks to the AoTMers who contributed a number of things here ...

nice one !
ahhhh...I used to torture myself in High School, after breaking up with girlfriends, by listening to that Jackson Browne tune several times in a row (still have the LP--luckily, haven't had to use it recently)...

Oh, this looks wonderfully painful. I especially love that Lucinda Williams tune.
Despite the sad content, I think that this is one of your best mixes ever. Every song a heartbreaker...
If you threw in "She Thinks I Still Care", I'd be a pathetic mess crying on the floor (now I'm just a pathetic mess). One of the best I've seen in the "Break Up" genre.
Fantastic!
This IS a work of art. And taking the time to write the albums and songwriters, ect--nice job.
Great stuff, Sally Anne. You have a real knack of stringing together heart-rending mixes. Still loving the ones you sent recently.
Heart-breakingly beautiful!
Lovely unloved stuff!
Wow - this does seem to tug (or yank) at the heartstrings. Back in my dating days I could not listen to sad songs after a breakup - I tended to turn to the angry punk to help with the denial of pain. This mix looks great - top notch from start to finish. I'll agree that this is actually an artfully crafted mix.
yes, this is a beautiful mix, sad, heartbreaking...
Gosh, y'all! I almost didn't post this mix as I was afraid it was too maudlin ... plus, I'd have to say that that Fifth Dimension cut is a guilty pleasure. /// Adam, I had that Lucinda tune, but I didn't really hear it until you sent me your Emmylou compilation. "Love Hurts" comes from the same place ... Plus, if y'all don't know the first tune, it's a film noir punk love song ... sooo good ...
Really great , beautiful mix all the way through!
Congratulations! Well deserved.
I agree. Definitely worthy. So much great stuff. Congratulations!
Congrats, Sally Anne, for sharing your joy! Wouldn't have missed hearing about this for a minute!
I don't know it all but knowing u I'd end up liking it! Good Job and nice to see yr name re-appear in the submissions!
Beautiful.
This is beautiful - I love it. Well done!
This is beautiful Sally. The stretch from Lucinda Williams to Joe Turner is as good as it gets. Agreed on the Bud Powell track. A bitter irony that his mind was, in fact, filled to it's breaking point.
Jeez, I now see that this is Mix o' the Week! Congratulations! You sure know how to mix 'em and that Gerry sure know how to pick 'em.
beautiful, sorry if I've answered you, but I forgot it but will e-mail you soon
Trying to read Radio Sally's mixes always gives me a headache... that's not to say there's anything wrong with that though.
This looks extraordinary. Really, really great--even better than your usual stuff. Congrats.
Truly worthy of MOTW
Wish I knew the closing track though!

Congratulations Sally!
Congrats Sally - this really looks wonderful!
This makes me feel young, which is a 1st. Everyone knows the experience, + you've done a beautiful job of putting it to music. Lots of learning for a guy like me here. Out.
