Comment:

This is a smoking cd i made for my my girlfriend's sister I think she's mostly in to breaks and house but i dont have to much of that. I put it together with the idea that one likes to chill a bit, but might want to get up and dance every so often. Nice opener as it's, well, the best bloody massive attack track, period. i used the Lambchop as it's a "chillout" track, yet still manages to retain it's balls (otherwise i wouldn't put zero 7 anywhere my ears). my kingdom is one of those wonderful rare electronic/"dance" tracks that doesn't immedietly date itself. Instead it just remains spacious, haunting and beautiful. this Fela cover i like as i conveys the spirit of the original (fierce and ballsy)but isn't 45mins long.It also brings the tempo up a bit with out beeing to jarring after the FSOL tune. London Eleckticity make some really cool, soulful D&B without reverting to what i call coffeshop jungle..almost housey at times(but in a good way).Dont hate on the Xtnia track. I am a fan of pop, but miss Dirrty inst one of my fav's, at all. However, this remix is wicked, so there. Grafiti, as far as i can tell, is Mike Skinner, aka the Streets. This ditty about domestic dischord is a tad more 2-step infulenced than The Streets. The Bug is Kevin Martin used to be in an evil jazz/industrial outfit called God and Techno Animal w/ Jason Brodrick of Godflesh. The Bug is a reggae/dancehall project though(!) THis trackis proper yardie nastiness w/ wicked bass and a vocalist who whould make chris barnes shit himself (fyi, bug does a rexmix of the grafiti track as a b side on that single). I dont know too much about these guys(girls?) but its cool. It's an electro kinda track, but not at all cold. THe Upsetters track is , well it's mr scratch perry. cool. (there's neat whipping sound fx near the end,to go with the lyric, "i and i must whip them wicked men, i and i must beat down babylon"). THe All Seeing I sort of came and went. Apperently they had an album (w/ jarvis cocker doing some vocals)in the late 90's but i cant find it. This track is from and ep and is another electro track, kinda bouncy this one. Circle square coems back more to the begining of the disc..big sounding, spacious electronic music..akin to manitoba (though less psycadelic)if comparisoms must be made. THis coltrane is my utterly selfindulgant track. i love it and I think it fits the tape, its spacy, good to get stoned to, will fuck with you a bit and all round neat. so what if its 15mins long?
