1 Marvin Gaye: On the afternoon of April 1, 1984 - one day before his 45th birthday - Gaye was shot and killed by the Reverend Marvin Gay, Sr. in the aftermath of a heated argument. 2 Peter Tosh: assassinated at his home in Kingston 1987 3 Bobby Bloom: Bloom suffered from depression and was killed in an accidental shooting on February 28, 1974. 4 John Lennon: Coming home late from a session, Lennon was hailed by a fan to whom he'd given an autograph earlier that day, Mark David Chapman. Lennon turned and Chapman shot him five times with a .38 revolver. 5 Dyke & The Blazers: Arlester "Dyke" Christian fatally shot on the street in Phoenix on Marchá13, 1971 6 The Coasters: Nat "Buster" Wilson was shot in April 1980.á His body was dumped near Hoover Dam, and later found in a canyon near Modesto, California. 7 Del Shannon: Self Inflicted gunshot 8 Sam Cooke: December 11, 1964, while in Los Angeles, Cooke became involved in an altercation at a seedy motel, with a woman guest and the night manager, and was shot to death while allegedly trying to attack the manager. 9 Run DMC: Jam Master Jay gunned down in N.Y. recording studio 10 Gary Stewart: Self Inflicted gunshot 11 Mountain: Felix Pappalardi (Bassist) girlfriend shot him to death during an argument on April 17th of 1983 12 Bob Kuban And The In-Men: Walter Scott was shot in the back. 13 Nirvana: Kurt Cobain (vocals/guitar) Self Inflicted gunshot 14 Lee Morgan: February 1972 shot and killed by jealous lover at New York's, Slug's Club. 15 Tupac: shot on the Las Vegas strip 16 Biggie Smalls: Drive by 17 Faron Young: Self Inflicted gunshot 18 Danny And The Juniors: Danny Rapp self inflicted gunshot 19 Cactus: Rusty Day (Vocals) in a drug deal gone bad 20 13th Floor Elevators: Stacy Sutherland (guitar) shot dead by wife 21 Russ Columbo: Lansing Brown kept a pair of antique dueling pistols on his desk. According to statements given at the inquest, Brown was toying with one of the pistols and holding an unlighted match in his left hand. The "trick" was that the hammer would ignite the match, although Brown would later testify that he did not know why he had the match and the gun, other than a sort of odd "habit." Unfortunately, the old relic had both gunpowder and a vintage minie ball. Somehow, the match and the hammerá triggered the gun powder, and the bullet was discharged. Detectives later determined that the bullet must have ricocheted off the mahogany desk between the two men, striking Russ Columbo in the left eye, lodging at the back of his brain.
