for my beloved tj. this mix, made shortly before our recent two-year anniversary (of dating, that is), was intended sort of as a retrospective of our relationship thus far and of our preceding friendship. most of the songs are ones i associate with us or him; some are songs we've covered together (low and thalia zedek, for instance); some are songs that remind me of the music he makes (the shannon wright and shipping news, for instance). in any case, i fucking love the boy, and i want to show him that in as many ways as i can. first side is entitled: "i've been with you for a very long time. may i call you mine?" second side is entitled: "please be mine. share my life. stay with me. be my wife." the former is from the will oldham, the latter from the bowie.
