elena and i mailed each other mixtapes the summer after we first met. we didn't know each other too well at the time but we had fun. her ground rules: "no wordcore or talkie talkie ok?? right now i'm just into songs. instrumental is outlawed too." it's kind of a silly tape that i don't listen to so much now but mainly cause i played it to death in that rundown honda driving around decatur that summer. in retrospect this tape was clearly better suited for me than elena. and that azure ray song totally doesn't fit.
