Comment:
This is a birthday mix for the ultra fabulous Nicole. "Mediocrity Rules" was a very deliberate kiss-off choice. She knows why. As was, for that matter, "Gravel". Tracks 12 and 14 are nods to our Wes Anderson obsession. "Paper Thin Walls" is a nod to the complete insanity of the universe. The choice of Tony the Tiger for cover art (a picture of blogger Jeremy Broomfield dressed as a bumblebee graces the back cover) is a little inside joke about, well, "grreeatness" versus mediocrity. All the transitions were worked and reworked and reworked all night long and are now impeccable; I rarely say that about a mix in its entirety, but they are truly killer. Take note, Nikster!Feedback:
nice
cool stuff
very nice. i like the polaris and modest mouse tracks a lot.
I love my birthday mix very much. Thank you for making it for me, not to mention everything else. I'd be drowning at Water if it weren't for you.
