i made this mix for my friend carla, we got talking about arthur lee and love, and how after all these years arthur still rocks, and i mentioned that shack once backed arthur on a small tour he did, and i said they knew arthurs songs better than he did, to which she said "shack should i have heard of them?"...and the answer is probably no, the bad luck and wrong timing,with some of their records being extremely hard to find its no suprise that they aren't one of the better known uk guitar bands,the pale fountains were around in 1982, yet the music still hasn't dated, as a friend once told me good well crafted songs never date, and as a compliment to michael and john head, i could have made this compilation 5 times over using different songs and it would have still been wonderful.
