Comment:

My girlfriend and I were both reading Nick Hornby's novels at the same time. I read 'About a Boy' while she read 'High Fidelity'. We realized that these books, which both have a great deal to do with "pop" music, deserved soundtracks. So I made one for 'Boy' and she made one for 'High Fidelity'. They both came out excellently. This one, of course, is hers. She did a great job of putting together the songs mentioned in the novel that were of particular significance along with the odd tunes one might want to hear while reading the book. The only song taken from the movie's soundtrack is the Jack Black tune, which comes across better while watching the movie rather than listening to it on its own. So if you haven't read 'High Fidelity' yet, hunt out these songs and listen to them while you read the book-- I did, and it makes for a cool, enhanced, reading experience.

What, no Katrina and the Waves? Other than that, great mix.

I am intrigued and excited by this mix. I read High Fidelity about six months ago. I still haven't see the film, but I loved the book, and I like the idea of re-reading it to the mix that your girlfriend has constructed.
