Comment:
uhhhhhmmmm....i made this mix with the intention of not giving it to someone (i was basically going to make it, take it to where that person was, fantasise about giving it to them...and then not) and i stuck to this plan, because i realised that in *every* way i've looked at the situation, this person and i were incongruous....there wasn't even a point to having a tiny bit of interest in them.i still wanted to give the tape away. so i decided, why not give it to the city? and that's just what i did....i left it on a ledge, slightly covered by a curtain, at the second place i went to that night. i checked the spot a while later and the tape was gone. some random person has it....and i hope that they like it.
the tape had a little note on it, which i can't remember entirely now, as i quickly wrote it while on the tram before i gave it away. it was something like: "you're teeth still make me melt.
but i can't give this to you.
this tape is now an orphan.
enjoy it, stranger
love, XX"
xx is a pseudonym of mine....oh, and the title 'you look good in my light' is taken from Lanterns by the Microphones..
anyway, that story is kind of not too exciting, i just thought i'd tell it for the sake of it though.
Feedback:
Oh no, BC, that story is exciting! A random mix to be enjoyed by a stranger is really a cool idea. Love the mix, love the story, and really love the note you left.
Ditto James. Way to spread the word. I think everyone on this site should leave a mix somewhere!
great story, some people on the site are already doing such things, keep it up !
0ohh, thanks people...!
cool idea - and good instincts deciding against giving it to what's-the-face & leaving it for a mysterious stranger.
yeah i had this idea too. I first heard of people doing it with books. Good mix...wish i found it.
beautiful mix. i've been leaving old mix tapes/cds in buses and in the library. i'm hoping at least one person actually dug what was on it.
I love the idea of leaving a mix somewhere for a random stranger to pick up. I love the mix as well.
oh waouw, thanks, this appreication-ness is making me blush!
I love the idea of leaving a mix tape/cd for someone. I'll have to work on a really special mix before I do that.
this seems really calming. i like it.
