Comment:

i made this mix for a recent acquaintance, who i reeeally hope becomes my friend (hah how lame do i sound?) oh well....anyways, yeah, he's really nice and stuff, and he has this massive record collection that's like *wow* and i don't know, he was just fun to hang out with when i met him....
so i'm gonna send him this tape! he made me this really awesome tape so it's like kind of payback but yeah also just cuz i wanted to......it's funny because i kept getting really lost during the process of making it as to what i wanted it to be like and what i wanted on it, and then i kind of decided it's a very weekend mix....like a happy-wow-hey-that-was-cool weekend mix....
from Sleater-Kinney to Le Tigre is like when you wake up to when you're on a train/tram/walking with your friend to some cool place where you're about to have an awesome time, like some cool venue with good bands, or even a party....and then from Electrelane to Junior Senior is like the actual thing you're at, then The Decemberists and The Postal Service is like 4 a.m food jaunt/street wandering/maybe drunk meandering, then the song On The Subway is clearly the "I'm wilting and want to be home" getting back home/to a friends' place stage, and then the Cut Copy - Saturdays (reprise) is like falling asleep with a smirk on your face at the days & nights events......My Bloody Valentine is the gentle Sunday morning wake up, and the rest of the songs are like a happy Sunday of doing whatever/feeling elated and happy/meandering about..........
so there you go!! I hope Sonny (the person I'm making it for) likes it, because I certainly do....
