Comment:

Guided by Voices' Robert Pollard is perhaps the most prolific songwriter of our time. In addition to the annual GBV record, Bob somehow manages to squeeze out another three albums a year under various side projects. The problem is that the material for these smaller releases seldom approaches the level of quality that you'd expect from a GBV release. What's more, with so much available, you might not have the time or money to invest looking for the diamonds in the rough. With this mix, my aim was to take the hundreds of songs Bob has released and condense them down to the quality numbers more reminiscent of his work with GBV. I tried to include a large selection of albums to represent Bob's various porjects, but some of them such as The Lifeguards, Phantom Tollbooth, and The Circus Devils just don't do it for me.
