Comment:

Okay. So we recently were introduced to the wonders of broadband @ the Porterhouse. Needless to say, I've been digging into all kinds of new sounds in the continuing journey to expand my musical horizon. Anyways, I've mainly been listening to as much WFMU as I possibly can and working on several new mixes. This one's title is a play on the name of the track that Nas samples in the fucking amazing, "Thief's Theme". Other track notes- That Aerosmith track is an absolute KILLER from the last album they did before "Permanent Vacation", "Done With Mirrors". I think you had to read all the song titles on that one by holding it up to a mirror. (pretty lame, I know, but it does have 3 or 4 pretty rockin' tunes on it). I know I'm pretty late to jump on the Pere Ubu bandwagon, but Holy Shit!! I'm just digging into some of their prime stuff that's been posted on Emusic and it's ALL good stuff. Man, oh man.

Lots of great stuff here, Shawn -- particularly like the Pearls Before Swine, Pere Ubu, & Thin Lizzy tunes. And I've been hearing a lot about the Carla Bozulich cover of Willie Nelson, too.

Great stuff Shawn. Love the Bozulich, Gastr Del Sol, Pearls Before Swine and Sticks and Stones through Jackie-O, motherfucker. Nice to see you've found the mothership (WFMU), too.

Good move on FMU. Be sure to check out: Music to Spazz By, Greasy Kid Stuff, Radio Thrift Store, Trans-Pacific Sound Paradise, Kenny G, and the Best Show on WFMU.

This looks fascinating. I'd really like to hear the Gastr del sol song. Any song about Kentucky interests me, for some reason :-)

This looks fantastic - and oh yes, I very much share your excitement about the joys of broadband - I'll be (unfortunately) moving back to yer plain old dial-up soon, so the musical horizons may have to stop broadening for a while :( Anyway, yes indeed, Pere Ubu are a sonic wonderland - also, lovely inclusions of Spacemen 3 and Pearls Before Swine too! Nice stuff.
