Comment:

Well, time to jump in the pool again. It's been six months since I made a mix. I've been listening to all my CDs as I unpack them, and this represents some cuts that jumped out at me. I thank my brother David for turning me on to Vusi Mahlasela, Eliades Ochoa, and the Palm Wine Boys. My workmates David and Doug E. presented me with Linda Draper and Simon respectively. I'm just finishing my first listen-through and it plays just fine.

Wow! The space shuttle must have returned to earth, what with you and Steve each posting your first mix in eons. Excellent mix as always, as well as first class annotations. Songwriters were not getting any credit while you were on vacation. (-:

Well, well, well. It's about f**king1 time! It's like riding a bike or a skateboard or public transit, right? This looks splendid as ever. Love the opening through the Young Marble Giants especially. And "The Reggae Country Collection"?! My credit card company thanks you.1Replace asteriks with "u" and "c."

Hooray! It's a Sally mix! This is really intriguing - I love the Rachel's pick, the YMG and Son House, and I'd love to hear what I don't know.

Sally - yes, this certainly has that Sallyness je ne se quois charm of all your mixes. I have some John Holt on tape from an 80's trip to Negril that I love. I need to get one of his cds. Best to you! Steveps - I'm sure I owe you a mix or two. I need to get motivated.

Amen! Great to see you back and mix-able! (I doubt whether Steve M. can actually remember a trip to Negril in the 80s if he was doin' it right! Experience teaches me that.) Looks like a great soundtrack to summer...
