Comment:

31. Stalk Of Wheat. The third and final disc of my new three disc TMBG retrospective. I got to include some rarer stuff on this disc, like original working versions of songs that ended up on "Mink Car" (which, obviously, I feel are better than their LP counterparts). The "Countdown Intro" is something I only recently got ahold of. It's the famous intro used in their early live shows ("TEN! Your ten fingers reach into the air...") recorded live at Tipitina's, New Orleans, 6-20-88. My preference for Linnell's songs really came out when compiling this era (1996-2004). On that note, I would not have included "Boss Of Me" if my friend hadn't wanted all their biggest hits included. See disc 1 for further liner notes. UPDATED 4-6-06: Made one minor adjustment recently. Came across an amazing studio version of the original rock arrangement of "Man, It's So Loud In Here" on the TMBG Clock Radio a few months ago. I swapped that with the live version I previously had here.

This is an impressive undertaking. I also prefer Linnell's songs and earlier versions of some of the songs on Mink Car. You did a great job compiling some of the band's best work to entice newbies, well done!

I'm reasonably new to the wonderful world of TMBG.

Were The Edison Museum and I Can Hear You both recorded at the Edison Labratory?

I love I Can Hear You and would've liked to see it here...
