When laufi first posted his Georgie Fame mix a few years ago I was really only familiar with his big hit, Yeh Yeh. I traded for his compilation and was turned on to a whole other side of Georgie Fame...accomplished R&B man. The only unfortunate thing about his mix was that it was on cassette, and the two end tracks were cut off. I transferred the tape tracks to my computer, cleaned them up a little, restored one of the cut tracks (Yeh Yeh) and removed a few tunes so it would fit on a CD. I wanted to make this available to anyone out there who passed up his mix just because it was on cassette...it's definitely worth giving a listen to!

GF is one of the coolest performers from the 60s London scene. It's criminal how much of his stuff is out of print. Kudos to Laufi, natch, whose original I must have missed the first time around.

I'd like to get on the "passed up b/c it was on cassette" list - I know of Georgie Fame from his recent work w/Van Morrison, but I've never heard any of his own stuff.
