Comment:

My oral exam in entomology is drawing ever nearer, and what better way to cure the jitters than to throw together a mix of tunes that keep my toes tapping and my brain distracted from papers on integrated pest management, the evolution of insect orders and the vagaries of insect physiology. Thanks to Jim for turning me on to that Shatner song...I can't get it out of my head!

Let's go trippin'!
I thought I knew my Carmen Miranda, but I've never heard "Yipsee-I-O", & I thought I knew my Sir Douglas Quintet but I've never heard their "sugar Bee".
Once the exam is done, would you help edumacate my musicology by trading me this for something? Ooooh, and Ernie Kovacs, & Soul Sauce! It must be good!
(Hmm, an oral entomology exam, is that a test of how many chocolate covered ants you can eat? )

What George and Sean say, completely. Toss this one on my pile, too (when you send the Lovin' Spoonful and Georgie Fame mixes). :-)

Oral entymology? Jeez. I thought oral German exams were bad enough. Well, good luck! Love this - especially the Soft Boys pick - and I must say, I've come up with a lot of mixes while procrastinating. It's the way forward!

This looks excellent! Nothing like a collection of toe-tapping tunes to keep the blood flowing. So have you considered taping a "cheat sheet" to the belly of a giant cockroach for the exam?

You know Moe, that hadn't occured to me... you think they would notice?

Of course they wouldn't notice. They'd just think it was a visual aid. Make sure it's dead first. You don't want the big guy (gromphadorhina portentosa) to start hissing during your exam. How embarrassing would that be?

Oh, pretty mortifying, I'm sure! But maybe I could just train it to hiss me cues if I get off track. =)

Looks like a total blast, Deanna. I Didn't think wild Bill could pull one off if he was in on the joke, but that's a great take on a favorite song.
