Comment:

Just a bunch of songs that have been on my mind for the past few weeks and months, some of them pertaining to things going on in my life at the moment (including a breakup with a long time girlfriend). I was going for a definite mood here, and I'm not entirely sure the T. Heads track works, but I love the vibe on that one. I have probably jeopardized any cred I had here by including a Billy Idol tune, but you know, I liked the song in the '80s and I still like it now. It has a haunting factor to it. Seeing Billy (among many other bands) at the Inland Invasion reminded me of how much I liked it. UPDATED 9-25-04. I juggled some songs around, shifting "Cold" from track 5 to track 2 and "Chapter 24" from track 3 to track 16. I also decided to replace "Born Under Punches" with the more apropos "new track" from TNOTBITH, "A Clean Break." This left me with some extra time, so I threw in the excellent Magnetic Fields track, from their latest album, "i," and the (probably overplayed) Gary Jules rendition of Tears For Fears' "Mad World." (On a side note, when Tears For Fears played the song at Inland Invasion, they used Jules' arrangement as the basis. Interesting.)

I don't think you lose any cred for submitting a Billy Idol song, even if it is THAT one! Love to see the Pulsars and XTC. -Dale

Nice all round - can't go wrong with that Bunnymen track, and yep, I'm alright with the Billy Idol inclusion too. Oh, and nice Divine Comedy pick!
