Comment:
8 long months without a mix. I don't have the time for those historical themed mixes I was doing, so I've got 3 or 4 cheerful mixes I'm working on now for a road trip. I've been doing a lot of hiking, and I don't bring a walkman when I go.Anyhow, this mix is for kick-ass women everywhere; the sources are obvious, Cowboy Bebop and the Kill Bill movies, plus two bands I've been really into for the last year, Steely Dan and the Flaming Lips. I needed a little cheering up, it always sucks when someone you look up to has feet of clay, and that happened to me recently. So I thought of all the kick-ass tough women I know, and came up with this little homage to their fictional counterparts. So Beatrix Kiddo, Faye Valentine, and the old gals from the Triplets of Belleville came to the rescue. And kicked my ass.
Feedback:
Hey, any mix that includes Elvis Hitler and Enoch Light has gotta be cool!
Nice to see your name here again Stripey...good stuff as ever..hope everything works out for you...enjoy the trip!
Ah Faye.....If only I were 15 years younger and an anime character on Mars....
Top Kinks tune, along with many other great trax.
Very very nice!
Looks cool to me.
Apologies for the late comments - this looks excellent, really, and it's good to see that you've been able to do a bit of posting. The Ray Charles - Seatbelts is very nice.
