Comment:

This cassette is an honorarium to those associated with the Chicago POWER indoor soccer team [National Professional Soccer League] in our last two seasons in Chicago. The cassette was originally compounded on 31 October 1995. Over the previous year, I had compounded other mix tapes, some of which were played during POWER home games at the Rosemont Hospice. This was mainly a compilation of them. It was numbered #18. Only five songs had not been previously heard.
When I played back this completed effort, I realized that each of the songs has lyrics which spoke penetratingly to the 1994-95 season (and sadly, could similarly apply to the 1995-96 endeavor).
In those two seasons, we went 12-68 on the field. We also went through _seventy_ players on a sixteen-man roster. Since, for the most part, the guys who played for us were not adequately compensed for their work, I have taken up the responsibility to get this cassette to each and every one of them.

I don't know much about soccer but I know that Side B of this is full of great songs -- 'specially the Sundays, XTC and Del Amitri songs. Good work. Sorry about the team.
