Comment:
I don't know about this whole MP3 situation. If I listen to the pundits, I should be happy knowing that music is reaching a wider audience and that entire libraries are now readily available. Without Napster, I wouldn't have found half of the game music I've been looking for. On the other hand, this format is antithetical to a throwback like me who likes their work handmade. I mean, I can hear these songs, I can play and rewind them, they show up on my hard drive; but I can't touch them, I can't manipulate them, their format is immaterial, which makes it almost worthless. Then again, didn't someone say that when everything is worth something, then something is worth nothing? Kind of sums up this whole debacle...=]'Feedback:
Pretty cosmic thought there ("I can't touch the songs") but you make a good point. Spin magazine picked "Your hard drive" as album of the year. I guess that says something. But maybe the songs are ultimately in your head, where you can indeed touch them. You made a good comment ... I think that's the disattachment that people feel with technology in more than just musical ways. Good songs too!
i agree. totally
