Comment:
Knock knock. (Who's there?)
A little old lady (A little old lady who?)
I didn't know you could yodel!
(That was one of my favorite jokes in the 6th grade - & still is!)
=========================
This disc was inspired by lanhamyodel's amazing & ear-opening
Joy of Yodeling from last week -
so I tried not to overlap too much with his selections,
(NOR with the indispensible & commercially available "American Yodelling 1911-1946") -
BUT I did have to start out with the same one lanhamyodel did,
Goebel Reeves' "the Yodeling Teacher"
- & when you hear it you'll know why.
- besides, this is an EDUCATIONAL CD,
& "the Yodeling Teacher"
is such a natural lead in to
"She Taught me How to Yodel" & "If I Could Only Learn to Yodel".
You too can learn to yodel - send for our free instructional CD!
P.S. As far as I know this is the third yodeling mix posted here at AOTM, the first
one being
chapbell's fascinating-looking
Yodel, Escher, Bach: The Eternal Golden Bray
Feedback:
this looks great! having received and enjoyed Claudes mix (actually got it for my girlfriend) but found this was really good stuff and fun.if ya want to trade some, let me know, i've got the time.........
Must be a trend. Glad to see Don Walser, and that Slim Cessna tune is HOT! littleoldladywho
A big part of what makes yodeling (especially in the mountains) so enjoyable is hearing one's echo return! :-)
A great collection of mostly (or entirely?) American yodeling! And a great cover of a Swiss cow, known as "la vache quit rit." Now we know why she is smiling: she is listening to someone who is learning how to yodel.

Oops, no, not entirely American yodeling. Peter Hinnen is Swiss, of course, but "Auf meiner Ranch bin ich K÷nig" is definitely influenced by American cowboy songs.
I think Ianhamyodel has unleashed a powerful new genre! God help us all....
I use to think yodeling was pretty lame, but I checked out some yodeling best-of from my local library and I became hooked. Yodeling is quite an infectcious genre.
I can see that I am going to have to investigate . . . .
Looks fantastic Joey!
This looks intriguing, for sure.
More yodeling!
That cover picture makes me happy, and I bet that mix would too!
Little old lady who? Dude, you gotta start a yodeling collection at the Exhibition page.
Fantastic!! I don't know too much here, but I'm definitely intrigued. And I love your cover - La Vache Qui Rit still haunts me from family trips to France when I was younger, but in a good way. I also echo the sentiments about the yodeling exhibition.
AotM's third yodelling mix! Dazed...
Crazy! (..and still no sign of that minor, forgettable club track from the late 80s, "Bring Me Edelweiss".)
Ho-lee crap! Great to see another yodeling mix. I remember seeing a yodeler a few years back and thinking "how does he DOOOO that?" Valis - my wife really likes that Edelweiss track!
Yodeling is the shit. You should check out the greatest living yodeler: Don Walser.
Awwww, Z-man, you put a yodel in my heart!
Where do you buy the CD?
Great stuff... how do I get a copy.
Thanks
