Comment:

This is a celebration mix, although you wouldn't know it by the mostly mellow music. For almost two years I've had my CDs packed away in the garage, out of reach of Kai, my little boy. Now that Kai's older (2), and knows not to touch Daddy's music, I've brought all my music back up, and have been spending the last few days sorting and alphabetizing it all. With my music now `at the ready,' as it were, I can do justice to the music with proper documentation, something I've been wanting to do for a while now. I've also changed my handle, as it seems most of my mixes are jazz these days, and I will use this handle solely for jazz mixes. So, this is a fresh start, of sorts, and my goal is to make fewer yet more considered and qualitative mixes. So, to start, the beginning of a series: Ballads and Blues, Vol. I.

I especially like your Coltrane & Mingus picks, but this looks good overall. Btw, your mixes were sent on Friday.

Looking good. I have the same new year ambition as you - fewer yet more considered. Trouble is, I just can't help myself and still do loads (mainly unpublished). Jazz is defintely where it is at, however.

Looks very good, Edward. Since I don't know jazz well, I am glad to see the recording year of the songs, that really helps to put things into perspective.

This looks lovely - I don't know a lot of it, but would like to. Wonderful Marsalis pick, though, among others.
