Comment:
This is a mix of Chinese oldies (1930's-1970's) for a guy in Canada who really likes Yao Su Rong (a wonderful female singer who was popular across Asia in the 1960's and 1970's, and was featured on QDK Media's Asian Takeaways compilation). I helped him write a mini bio on her, for his zine. I also promised him a mix CD that would have more like Yao Su Rong... and that was about a year and a half ago. I finally got a chance to put this together over my Chinese New Year vacation -- hence, the unimaginative title.Perhaps I'll update this mix with more information later. For now, I just want to get this tracklist up, because this has taken me way too long! Some track names are just untranslatable. Track 1 is a classic New Year's song.Feedback:
This looks fascinating!
Fascinating, for sure, but I can't say I know anything about this stuff. Perhaps we can trade again someday.
Oh yes, fascinating and intriguing. I'd love to trade for this if you're interested...?
Very fascinating looking
Fascinating indeed! (your mix is on its way btw).
Hey... I still have this saved on my computer and would be happy to trade! Just drop me a line if you wanna swap.
Exotic! I'd love to hear this.
I always get excited when people post mixes containing music I know nothing about -- this sure is one of those mixes. :) I'l love to hear it!
