Comment:
Another re-working of an old mix for a trade. ECM is a label folks either love or hate. I happen to dig a lot of their artists, and I think the aesthetic and visionary genius that is Manfred Eicher is unrivalled in the music industry.Feedback:
This looks interesting. I've got to admit that I've never explored much jazz from the 80s and on, but the artists here (Jarrett, Cherry, and Holland, in particular) have all done great work elsewhere, so I'm sure this is good.
I love Garbarek or at least the two albums I own...ditto Mr Conroy!
Fabulous Edward! Count me on the "love the ECM label" side of the equation - just picked up some Stanko & Motian - but Holland, Hassell, early Metheny Group, Garbarek, Weber, Frisell (who's most recently released on Nonesuch--another great label) etc. - it's right up there with Verve & Blue Note, IMO, as the cutting edge label of its day.
interesting
nice label, nice picks!!!!!
Great label...like the g.a.b.ster I just (yesterday) got Stanko's Suspended Night (along with some Charles Lloyd & Marilyn Crispell). Another great looking mix!
I've loved this label forever and for a while in the 70s bought albums of unheard artists to check out just because they were on ECM.
Especially like the first two selections, Edward.
