Comment:

More hiphop goodness for the masses. Kicks off with that legendary dedication to Trouble T-Roy, and ends with Pete & CL's most recent (and best) reunion. We all thought those two had squashed their differences and 'Appreciate' appeared to be a good sign that the dynamic duo were back on track but it was too good to be true, they're beefing again and the fans lose out. Anyway, inbetween those two we've got some soulful samples, the classic 'Be A Father To Your Child', and a reworking of it's horn sample (originally a Roy Ayers track I think) to great effect on the Amerie track - I'm actually looking forward to her album as she seems to have the right balance between hiphop beats and R&B vocals ('One Thing' still snaps necks). The UMCs and Queen Latifah tracks sit nicely together, leading into that Chemical Brothers tune that I can't get out of my head. Some choice 'posse' cuts keep it bouncing into a classic Black Moon joint before Common and Opio (from Souls Of Mischief, the new album is dope as hell so check it out) brings it bang up to date. I had planned to post a nice instrumental mix this time, but it's still undergoing major surgery so this will keep heads nodding until I can finish that.
