Comment:

This mix is by no means indicative of the absolute best of 2004! It is simply 80 minutes of SOME of the best music released in 2004. I realize that many great artists/songs/albums are missing from this mix, but I made do with the cds in my collection at the time that I mixed it. I tried to include my top ten favorite albums of the year, along with many of my favorite songs of the year. In some cases, great songs that came from otherwise dismal albums made the mix. All in all, however, I think this at least represents a small sampling of some of the best music 2004 had to offer. This mix was created November-December, 2004. At least 40 copies were made and handed out to friends and family. The cover photo was shot by Maranatha Wilson in Minneapolis, August, 2004. I chose that image because I hoped it would suggest that I was raising my glass to my friends in appreciation. Instead, I'm afraid it just makes me look like some kind of ego maniac!NOTE: I accidentally added a track from an album that came out in 2003 (Mike Park, For the Love of Music: 11/11/03). Ooops!
