Comment:
I came to jazz rather late in the game (mid 20s), and a guy who was coming on the scene around the same time as I was getting interested was Jacky Terrasson, who's eponymous first album is still one of my favourites. The above version of I Love Paris was, for this novice jazz listener, exciting, as it takes a familiar tune and examines it with both enthusiasm and delicacy. Some folks have been asking me for intro. to jazz mixes of late, so I've been trying to come up with stuff I think might suit as introductions. This, I think, would please the ears of most of you, as the tunes are interesting while never straying too too far from the melodically and rhythmically familiar. Most of these are standards, and most are (save 1, 4, 7, 10 and 13) piano trios. Even the non-trio tracks are propelled, in a bouncy way, by the piano.Feedback:
nice work again, Edward
More good stuff.
Mmmmmm, bouncy piano! Looks like a great introduction.
