Comment:

This mix (and its companion) was inspired by Hemizen's last mix, as well as Steve Mossholder's light-hearted challenge to pit his forthcoming Ellington mix against Terry's. It's also a re-working of my gigantic Ellington mix (under my lostinthemix handle) into two smaller, more manageable chunks (and including only Ellington `covers'). I've tried to include the familiar and the less so, as well as picking some less-than-conventional versions. As I said in my notes for the aforementioned mix, not all of these songs are Ellington's, but they were all given the Ellington stamp before they were sent off into the world of music.

If you haven't heard Ellington, you just don't know how good it can be.

Both wonderful mixes here! There's a lot on here I'm not too familiar with, but I am very partial to a bit of Ellington.

These must be good! I guess the Ellington influence doesn't guarantee a musically satisfying result, but's got to be a good start, you've put some great players on the winner's circle here.
