Comment:

As the title suggests, this mix is for my dad... He's been a really big influence on my love of music, despite the fact that he's not HALF the music geek I am. Truth be told, he had kind of a short attention span (hence the repeated artists and big hits) but his entusiasm rubbed off on me. I specifically remember him tooling around in the garage as my sister and I rode our bikes and played in the driveway, and a song by the Cars coming on ("Good Times Roll") and he called us into the garage and turned it up really loud and danced around in that white guy jerky-but-passionate way... One of many childhood music memories... Now that he's several states away, I thought this might be a nice "thinking of you" gift. :)
(special thanks to Rob for the recent Costello trade -- the This Years Model tracks were the spark that started this one).

this reminds me of my father as well. it's a very good mix. i also grew up listening to the talking heads and the rolling stones, raised on a steady diet of rock and roll, as the saying goes.

Mmmm...a lot of these were playing from the 3rd floor stereo of my college fraternity house back in '78. And yeah, that Cars album was the rage when it first came out.
Nice one!

Very nice! I could definitely do the old white guy herky jerky dance to this. I'm sure your Cars-lover dad will shake a tailfeather to this.

a lot of my all-time faves on this as well! (my dad would hate it, but all he listens to is classical)
