Comment:
I wrote a song about rain the other day and it got me thinking about how many rain songs there are. Then I realized that I like a lot of them, so I made this. I tried to stick with songs that had rain in the title, but I thought that #4, 9, and 11 are just good rain songs. #27 doesn't really have anything to do with rain, but there is a raining sound at the end of the song and I couldn't think of a Smith's or Morrissey song that was about rain or that had rain in the title, and I've always felt that Morrissey has a rainy thing about him (I even put him in the rain when I did an illustration of him http://www.drewdraws.com/moremusicians.html Also, Tell me if I have left out any really great rain songs.Feedback:
I think this is a great idea. And I especially love the James song.
I think the super secret hidden track should prolly be Cracker's "Another Song About The Rain".
From Salford's finest, you could have used "William, It Was Really Nothing". Or taking your Morrissey idea a little further, there is also a song by the TV Personalites called "Another Rainy Day In Manchester" that is a glorious Smiths pastiche - including the line "It's raining, it's pouring, I'm so boring".
Others I quite like include "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" (Ramones version) and (godhelpme) Status Quo's "Rain". And finally, there was once a band called The Rain.

Great idea! I'd probably include some different songs, but this is a nice mix!
Great mix. Could really use that now while looking out of the window...
Well, I guess it's not "raining men" today. Those Weather Girls lied to me :( In spite of that sorrowful omission, this is a neat collection of rain songs. Rain is underrated. Oh, and what about Albert Hammond's "It Never Rains in Southern California"? "It's Raining on Prom Night" (Me First do a mean cover of it)? "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"? Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 and 35" (although I despite that song, so you did good to exclude it)? Or "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things" by The Cowsills? Okay, I'll stop now. I just like doing this. P.S. Your track 5 is actually "Rhythm of the Rain" by The Cascades. Great oldies classic, too. Oh, and I agree with that first comment about "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" particularly his preference for The Ramones' version. I mean, CCR did a fine job, but there's something mythical about the way The Ramones do it. Anyway, carry on
Also: "Rain" by Madonna. Despite how vomit-inducing her music has become, that was a decent song of hers. All right, now I'm done
Some good choices...
