Comment:

The second of two mixes I created for my friend Morgan. (The first being "All the Ancient Kings".) I mixed this one in March, 2004 to showcase many of the artists and styles that were missing from that first mix. This one is more rockin', less categorical and more experimental (although not overly so and certainly still very accessible). The title comes from the Mountain Goats track and the cover art is by Felicia Telsey from "Civil Disobedience" by Henry David Thoreau. The inside sleeve of the mix contains a quote by Henry David Thoreau: "If a plant cannot live according to its nature, it dies; and so a man."
