Comment:

A mix made for my local Mix CD of the Month Club. We meet in six days, so if you're a member and would prefer to be surprised, whoops! Too late. Title is from an Ed's Redeeming Qualities song (not included). "Crazy Utahraptor" is a dramatic reading of "Dinosaur Comics" by two (I can only surmise) Canadian fellows, set to music. Many of these songs have appeared on other mix tapes and CDs of mine, but couldn't very well be left behind for a spoken-word-themed mix.

I love that William S. Burroughs cut. Bill Laswell remixed it on Material's "Hallucination Engine" disc. I've been saving it for just the right mix.

D'oh! Spoiled! But still, I admire the theme (I've been working up my own spoken-word mix, actually, though it's not done gestating) and I'll be happy to get a copy next week. And I'll never tell which of my mixes is my April CDMOM pick.

This mix is something to talk about. Love that Cosmopolitans tune and I remember liking that David Byrne tune, which I haven't heard in ages. Beautiful cover too!
