Comment:
my second guilty pleasures mix...i'd come up with explanations but i'm too lazy. however i would like to say that i have a probably unhealthy fixation on ABBA and the Pet Shop Boys, and yes, i think What's the Story Morning Glory is a decent record. go ahead and dissect away.Feedback:
Hmm... not nearly as much for me to get behind on this one, my friend, other than "Amie" (which I love), We Five, Neil, Every Mother's Son (to a small degree), Ministry and that particular Michael Jackson song (if I owned "Billie Jean", it'd be on my next volume). I like the Morning Glory (and all of '94-'96 Oasis, really) just fine, but that song isn't one of my favorites.
i think that Off the Wall and Thriller are two excellent records (although probably more due to Quincy Jones involvement than Michael Jackson's...it's amazing how Jackson still captures our imagination (of course for other reasons) based off of those two records and the Jackson 5, because the rest has been shit.
Rock me amadeus is a true guilty pleasure! I think guilty pleasures are personal favs that go against what the cooler heads believe. I attempted to make a guilty pleasures mix a couples months ago, but the transition from Green Jelly to The Flying Lizards to NKOTB never left my hard drive.
9,11-13 major good stuff.
Like much of this!
Gosh, I just can't figure out why these are guilty pleasures. "True" is a PERFECT song. It gives me chills when he says "take your seaside arms and write the next line". I love "Cast No Shadow" almost as much as "She's Electric". Human League are flat-out amazing, and they remind me of the bad guys in Superman II.
I've never even heard it, but I'm getting goose bumps just contemplating that fine young cannibals song.
