has its rewards: nothing is promised, nothing is taken away.We have no heart or saving grace,no place to go, no reason to remain.[ mark strand ]not the shiniest day on the beach, that."beauty queen" has been separated from "horses," though i left on all the shifting and sustain pedal noises at the end. come to think of it, i played around a lot with long pauses and low register thumping in between tracks on this one. it felt right. "murder city" made my brain hurt a little too much played in full, so i roared the volume out at 5 minutes and named it the "merciful 5" for my own sake. perhaps it is a cardinal sin? but it's nice to be able to listen to one's own mixes. this is, paranthetically, the CD version edited together in late 2002 from the original cassette.
