(31) Peppermint Harris - I Want a Cadillac Funeral
============

This R&B set tilts somewhat towards women singers, but that wasn't deliberate, I was just looking for a certain exuberant sound & this is what came out.

"Sometimes I became disconsolate about whether music could change the world. I thought about all the music that Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, and Art Tatum and all these people played, and how it hadn't had any effect. But now I know that you can uplift people with your music. They can feel bad, and, if you play something, they might feel better. I have to satisfy myself with that kind of contribution." -- Sonny Rollins

This is truly entertaining and great. Very nice, good sir. And yeah, I keep meaning to tell you that I'll trade you for the James Chance disc...

Like the Rollins quote. You could even have included one of his many calypsoish tunes and they wouldn't seem out of place beside, say, a Red Holloway. Top drawer, as usual, Jeff.
