Comment:

Never been through a break up...but I'm saving this as the soundtrack for when I do.

I put this together relatively randomly but, upon further inspection, there seemed to be a method to my madness. I love when mixes just form themselves.

Tracks 1-6 are kind of...the initial sting of a breakup, a mix of disbelief, dwelling, sadness, and the lingering hope of fixing things. 7-12 are the beginning of the anger...but it's that kind of melodramatic anger in an attempt to sort of save face and pretend like you're the stronger one. 13-16 progress into the pretty real, pretty vehement post break-up anguish. 17-21 are the more melancholy, introspective, but still bitter and frustrated tracks...trying to place the blame somewhere but realizing it's more complicated than that. 22-25 are the moving on tracks. 26 is the final reconciliation coming from the perspective of the other person in the relationship. And 27 is the overall theme... "We all fall in love sometimes."

Looks cool. My favorite break-up song has always been Sebadoh's "Soul & Fire" (i.e. "saying goodbye to you was so much fun"). Been meaning to do something similar, but haven't gotten there yet.

Opening with Damien Rice and closing with Elton John..and with The All American Rejects and Snow Patrol in between..wonderful! And that Jet song is so beautiful. Excellent picks.

I echo undangered species' sentiment. Again, great cover. For someone who claims to never have suffered through the exrience you did a great job capuring stages of the it. If you wanna check out, my mix "Ganemede Elegy".
