Comment:
Okay, THIS is it. I know I promised the end to this Latin-jazz series in the notes to the last volume, but these stragglers warranted their own mix. With the exception, perhaps, of 8, this is a party mix, great for hot summer nights and sweaty dancing. Thanks to Michael H. for the Don Ellis.Feedback:
good stuff, especially the opener
I agree about that opener. A great Zorn album. Like the Carla Bley too. I'd like to hear all of this.
Nice, I'm still hoping for a #5 & 6 in the future.
Tremendous stuff - I was toying with a Latin mix myself...agree with Hemizen re: opener!
Did you tap the grant green - latin bit? I can't remember. Ahh, it doesn't matter, this stuff is better than that record. Good theme, I am impressed how far you were able to run with it.
1 star for the title "Jazz ahora" 1 star for the inclusion of Ike Quebec. 3 stars for the inclusion of the Don Ellis Orchestra. Add it all up and you got a 5 star mix!
