I'll Never Smile Again
Comment:
I wouldn't want to live there, but I do visit the sad side of town once in a while.
Actually the germ of this mix was the impulse to make a film noir musical, but I just couldn't come up with the right combination of noir-era songs about double-crossing betrayal, suspicion, etc.; where I ended up was still in the 1940's but more in the key of regret, nostalgia for lost love, wistful wishes that it could have been different, etc. Blues at midnight.

Feedback:
This looks very sad, in a good way.
Isn't Alice Babs that Swedish gal yu put on your yodel mix?

Does it say something disturbing about me that I was smiling as I read the play list? I live for vicarious schadenfreude.
wow. beautiful and sad. i'd see this film over and over again.
What Sean said. Nice work.
nice one and it's always nice to only skirt that sad side of town from time to time to keep you humble......
I've been there plenty of times. Sometimes those singing ghosts are the only people in the room who get what you're feeling.
Though not your usual fare, it's a really lovely mix.
Nicely done. It wasn't long ago that this would've been the perfect mix for my mood, but I seem to have snapped out of it, happily. I can still appreciate the mix, though.
Beautiful.
I'm not too familiar with this era of music, but it looks truly exceptional. BW, I've been out of town the last week, but I still want to do that trade we talked about earlier this month
Another fine addition to your ever growing collection of excellent mixes.
Brings me back to my teen years, many many, many moons ago.
Excellent set set.
