Comment:

A Tribute one of my favorite movies (if only for the dialogue pertaining to music, record collecting, the art of making a mix tape, etc.)

I culled these tracks from the Deleted Scenes found on the High Fidelity DVD. The Tracks marked "+" are noted a being Rob Gordon's Top 5 Records (Singles) of all Time. Note Mr. Gordon names 14 seperate tracks by name and never really finalizes a Top 5 List. The "-" Tracks are also contenders for the Top 5 list, but no actual song is listed for these artists. I selected some not-so-obvious selections because...well, I felt like it.

Lastly the "*" tracks are from records noted or viewed during the Record Purchase Scene. And, Windowlicker "^" is the album purchased by Vince and Justin during yet another deleted scene.

So, there you go, my obsessive behaviour has been thoroughly evidenced. Hope you enjoy!

Haven't seen that movie (the thought of John Cusack talking about Skip Spence makes me gag), but this mix is incredibly good!

Great mix though Nick Hornby makes me wretch for letting his English Novel fall into the hands of Hollywood. He should have stuck firm and made sure it was made here. Thank God Fever Pitch wasn't turned into an American Football movie!! Again a good lookin' mix.

Really great mix, man. Can't go wrong with that Blue Cheer track and there's tons of other great stuff on here, as well.

Great book, great mix, decent movie (I guess, although I was only let down because I'd read the mix previously). I'm not sure why John Cusack talking about Skip Spence makes Orchid gag, though, as Mr. Cusack is known for having fine taste in music...

High Fidelity, whether in book or movie form, always inspires cool mixes. As for the Top 5 list, I'll forgive him. Could you decide on a Top 5 list? I'm still uncertain about mine.

I never really liked High Fidelity (the book or the movie)... is that, like, blasphemous?! Anyway, great mix you got here.

Great idea for a mix, and excellent use of special characters, by the way. I'll have to get the DVD,as I'm a sucker for DVDs that contain deleted scenes.

Btw, I meant to write "because I'd read the *book* prior to seeing the movie, not "mix"). Oops...
