i recently heard johnny thunders' "you cant put your arms around a memory" which inspired me to create a mix of punk rock love songs. was travelling down the new york punk / no wave road when someone introduced to the feelies' crazy rhythm, which just floored me. it had the sound i was looking for in my mix and in my life, and i can't get it out of my head. initially thought "loveless love" a prime contender for the love songs mix, but couldnt see the non-feelies tracks standing up to it (wih possible exception of ramones and suicide). so i decided to include the whole album and follow it up with some of my initial ideas of tracks for the love songs mix (not all NY). A NY punk rock love songs mix proper may come about in the future, if i ever get sick of listening to crazy rhythm.
