Comment:

Spending my 80s childhood listening to crappy radio and discovering my parents' record collection - the better part stemming from the 60s and 70s, the rest consisting of older artists' qualitatively quesionable 80s output - I almost completely forgot about that period after my musical declaration of independence (i.e. acquireing a CD player). I had a few Best-of-albums (Prince, Smiths, Cure, and, I have to admit: Genesis) but until about 3 years ago my musical image of that period was influenced mosty by cheap compilations, terrifying revival parties and the word 'retro'. Bit by bit I then discovered that those years actually did have something to offer. So here's a quick snapshot of that time, using a filter of course. It's not a best-of, more like a glimpse of what my (imaginary) favorite radio station could have sounded like back then. Oh, and I included 'More Than This' in homage to my parents' record collection.

PS: now it's the early-to-mid 90s that has become my personal musical wasteland, my first CDs collecing dust on the boards. Maybe in 5-10 years I'll rediscover them and follow up on this mix.
