Comment:

It's a surf mix, but of the more "interesting" tracks in my collection. A mix of tracks that went on to be famously covered by surf bands (or in the case of "Illya", should be), unlikely covers from surf bands, some pre-surf guitar music, and some strange surf tracks I just thought fitted.

Also includes Fairport Convention and their surf guitar medley, some Hawaiian guitar, and a Russian electronica version of Surfin' Bird ("Trashmen Upgrade"). And unfortunately that isn't the Australian punk band covering Wipeout, but it is a Joe Meek 60s production - so that's just as good.

I dig the vibe -- some unexected and forgotton (to me) artists.

As a surf music snob, I give this a thumbs-up. You ain't no hodad! There's tracks here I'd love to hear, if you want to trade. Any mix with Joe Meek featured is a-ok by me.

I was listening to this again, and I thought that Shadows track really doesn't sound like "The" Shadows - and in fact it's not, it's another band called "the Shadows". Oh well.

Very cool. Love the Saints -> The Thurston ("Thurston, what?") Lava Tube -> The Tributes stretch especially.

Crikey - I knew virtually nothing here so have had to go researching - I still know next to nothing but it sounds great . . . .

Awesome! That Kronos Quartet song is SO great. I'd love to trade for this at some point.

Not just the usual "Wipeout"! I'm not much of a surfer, but as a fan of Kronos, Ukrainians, lava tubes, & Kanui & Lula,
I'd be very keen to trade for this, if you have it in CD form?
