Comment:

I used to host an incredibly unfocused community radio show called The Grey Area.

I have an idea for a new show called Guitar Dogs. It will (if I can get a timeslot) feature great guitar playing of all kinds but will mainly focus on song-based playing that is inventive and/or interesting and/or passionate as opposed to technical. In other words Steve Vai and his mates won't get much of a run on Guitar Dogs. Melbournites can listen to a great show on 3PBS Monday night called Fret Net if they want that stuff. Please give feedback on this mix, no matter where you're from. Thankyou

I don't know everything here, but this definitely seems like the kind of radio show I'd like to hear. One thing is that while the unplugged album nicely shows the more melodic side of Kurt's guitar playing (the "Come As You Are" and "About A Girl" solo sections in particular), I personally might have gone for some of his more agressive and noisy stuff. In particular I really like the odd collection of noises that somehow constitutes a verse "riff" in "Paper Cuts".

I need to say that I'm very disapointed that more people haven't offered feedback. I have given a lot of feedback during my time here and surely a simple comment isn't too much to ask.

I need to listen to more of The Saints. They are a classic punk rock band I should know and I don't. Kudos for the Ramones- the founding fathers of punk. Love their guitar style. Sex Pistols rule. Don't know Brian Eno. Your Nirvana picks are perfect. Kurt and Co had interesting guitar parts and yes they were not very technical. I like the idea of this mix.

this is a fantastic idea for a show. my guitar heroes have always been people like thurston moore, jonsi, the edge, chris whitley, jonny greenwood and others who use the guitar in creative and imaginitive ways rather than just stringing a bunch of scales together very very fast. maybe i'm just bitter that i can't shred like yngwie or satriani.
