Comment:
Started working this one after seeing a mix entitled "Sweet Southern Comfort" on this site a while back that consisted of not much more than current Nashville tripe and was inspired to complete it after the Atlanta Journal Constitution recently compiled their "100 Songs of the South." For their list, go to http://www.accessatlanta.com/# and scroll down. It certainly has some terrific songs, but IMHO, is way too heavy on hip-hop (has anyone heard Atlanta's just-unveiled theme song?), completely overlooks Elvis and makes the unforgivable mistake of including Glenn Campbell's version of "Southern Nights" instead of Allen Toussaint's original.Feedback:
Interesting. Nice job.
This looks really good - fancy a trade?
I don't know the South first-hand but it sure is the source of a disproportionate amount of good music. This set looks really well put together.
