Hey all. I realize I'm on a bit of a roll this week. Starting to climb out of my creative rut. Lots of stuff I'm super crazy about these days, poppy and otherwiseThat Cardigans track is unbelievably great. It reminds me of something Sheryl Crow might do if she decided to put out a record that wasn't a piece of crap. That Lightning Bolt sticks out a little bit there (hence the mix title) but it's totally been rocking my world of late.I've always kinda dug the New Pornographers but this album has crept up on me in a real good way. That Teenage Fanclub track fucking slays me for some reason. So good.I hadn't really gotten around to listening to that new Espers until recently. Man, that BOC cover is f'ing superb! A great lead-in to the required psych portion of the mixJust picked up the new NNCK disc this weekend and it fucking blew my brain out. Shit, between that and the WWVV disc Buck Dharma it's going to be tough figuring out my top 10 discs this year Goddam, well enough of my rambling. More trades are being completed early this week. (Rob and musicgnome-the rest of yr package will soon be on its way)Feedback:
The final three make a superb closing!
This looks great (and I even know a lot of these). I've been listening to that Espers disc lately, too--really superb. Look for another track of theirs on my next mixed-genre mix.
funnily enough, I've been listening to the Espers recently too. Nice cover and it did lead me back to some old BOC albums too (Cultosaurus Erectus, was a great find after 15 or 20 years).
looks fine to me
Stunning.
Some more stuff here to check out. Some cool picks I know too.
Keep rollin' Shawn!
*sniggers at the Sheryl Crow comment*. Excellent work, Shawn - have to check out that New Pornographers one, and ditto on the TF comment!
Lightning Bolt & Tenage Fanclub work especially well pour moi.
Interesting pop/noise combo. Dig that Motor City hat trick at the end.
This right up my alley. Digging all the pop, folk, rock, and noiseness.
Not a lot I know here but it looks great!
