BYZANTINE AND YOU - THE KITCHEN MIXES
Comment:
Ever notice that every time you have party everyone ends up in the Kitchen? There was such a great turn out at this (B)ring (Y)our (O)wn (S)ong party that I had to open up this room. Please leave a song or comment. I will update the songs as they come in. I'll start it up again with one of my picks.
Feedback:
Sorry I'm late, but I did bring Rolling Stones: Miss You (my fav party song)
What better song to bring into the kitchen than "The Kitchen Floor" by the Broadways?
Drinking, eh? How about "Champagne from a paper cup" by Death Cab For Cutie. Ah, my favorite drinking song. As for the whole kitchen thing, "Pizza Day" by The Aquabats is the best food song ever! Thanks for the invite, btw.
White Man In Hammersmith Palais. Not my all-time favourite track or even all time favourite Clash track but it finds its way on practically every party mix I put together so lets keep things consistent. BTW, ta for the invite!
That cover is truly disturbing.
This cover is from what many have to come to call THE WORST ALBUM COVER OF ALL TIME. I thought it was so disturbing I had to make it my own. Covers can't be warm and fuzzy all the time. Hey who brought this Yak's milk to the party???
Looks like everyone beat me to the party. I'd like to bring "In The City" by The Jam.
Sorry Byzantine, had trouble finding the address ! I brought along Jean Jacques Perrey's EVA, and if that does'nt get everyone movin' I'll just freak on my own !
I've fallen in love again with "Don't go Now" by Ratcat, it's very Australian but will make you smile and dance and all things good. A great kitchen song.
Dry the Rain by The Beta Band
I'll bring "Come On in My Kitchen" -- the version by Delaney and Bonnie with Duane Allman on the slide guitar.
I'm gonna have to go with "Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazzarus, the Best. Song. Ever.
Our UK friends will no doubt remember You'll Always Find Me in the Kitchen at Parties by Jona Lewie.
Lets play Quarter To Three by Gary US Bonds.
What about "Oh James" by Blonde Redhead?
"foxy lady"-jimi hendrix...get that thing going
Fashionably late & carrying "Hello Lucille, Are You A Lesbian?" by T. Valentine.
Time to crank up "Metal Gods" by Glass Candy.
The cover's making me think of Wham!, so how about "Wake Me Up Before I Go Go." It will also help clear out the party, because people are starting to overstay their welcome.
I guess it's YOU Go Go. Sorry about that.
PICK #20 is from blackorchestra PICK #21 is from matins PICK#22 is from The Last Of The Famous International Playboys PICK#23 is from Peppermint Gondry PICK#24 is from popkulcher (Marc Fagel)1 . These could not be added to the other list because we ran out of room!! I am going to have to let everyone into the Basement next.
Nice cover.
Stereolab "Miss Modular" : ))
"Superman" by R.E.M. is a pretty irresistible cover of an obscure '60s pop song. One can both party & eat to it.
Altered Images - Happy Birthday would go down a treat....
great CD this would love to own it

2 more songs and then I am going to have to open up my basement. Ahhh the basement... There are a couple people making-out in the corner... GREAT MUSIC + GOOD TIMES... For those of you a little weary let's retire to the basement to chill and relax.
Sorry I'm really tardy and inebriated. Nonetheless, I still brought 2 litres of economy cider and Smog's hit song
"Our Anniversary" to mellow people out and have them ruminate on their relationships.

I wanted to thank everyone for coming to my party! Everyone is more than welcome to rest their party weary heads in the Basement. I am going to end this mix off with Gram Parsons & The Flying Burrito Brothers version of Wild Horses. My house is mess but it was all worth it.
now you can pick up another beer in the fridge next to you and start moving your nice lookin little booty to the georgous jessica harper singing "special to me" from brian de palma's phantom of the paradise soundtrack composed by paul williams
