Comment:

Any perceived blasphemy or disrespect to anyone's deeply held beliefs is completely intentional. If they're going to try to get that God nonsense into the schools then it's time to start making fun of it.

An earlier less complete version of this mix was dispatched last Xmas to a few AOTMer's in the spirit of the solstice, & this expanded version includes contributions from damned souls Nest of Vipers, Jenergy, & Jim Jackson - thanks guys!
Now, if anyone would like to win a year-end giveaway copy of this CD, just take a look at the cover image, and - name that God!

Most Splendid.

And, cograts. I'm Catholic but staunchly support division of Church and State. Much like other elements are always kept seperate: Politics and Reason is one example.

Fantastic! Love it - in all ways imaginable. I give it my atheist thumbs-up. As for the god ... i dunno, Gandalf? Or maybe it's just Jupiter/Zeus. Y'know, they're all pretty much the same. Pantheon, schmantheon. If you've heard of one unproveable invisible magical guy in the sky, you're heard of them all. As far as I'm concerned, Joey - YOU are God! Now find my lost hubcap, savior!!!

Congrats! A goat shall be slaughtered in your honour. Can't make out what's in his hand, but could it be the hammer of the mighty Thor?

THOR it is! the Trickster god Lo-Fi hath recognized his kindred hammer-wielding immortal, and a copy of this CD will be burned on the lo-fi altar!

(perhaps remind some of you of the old punchline:
"You're Thor!??
I'm tho thor I can hardly pith!!!

Looks fantastic. I love that Joe Louis Walker song so much, one of my favorite blues alongside John Lee Hooker's "Burning Hell". All Hail Thor!

With a `war on christmas' being joked about in the alternate press, seems this mix only adds fuel to the apparent firestorm in the current rebellion of the unrepentant. The wicked liberal forces no doubt recognized your worthy efforts by crowning you with the `mix of the week' title. With devout believers ready to fight to the point of christmas being pried from their cold dead hands, it seems hard to fathom that the catholic church actually condemns capital punishment. Or, as was recently said on comedy central, "without capital punishment, they wouldn't even have a religion". And it was out of the mouth of a chaplain that the famous phrase was uttered (and immortalized in a 1942 song) "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition". Now I've gone and done it; that could be the opening salvo in a mix to save christmas. Oh, and congrats on your crowning achievement.

Reminds me of a fave Carlin line - "All hail the Sun god, he sure is a fun god ... Ra Ra Ra!" War on Xmas? More like a war on reason...

Gee, if the picketers only knew that the "reason for the season" has much more to do with Jol's big ol' phallic fertility symbol in the oven and revelers boozing in from the cold!

Funny that you put that Dylan song he wrote when he was 24. What about Se±or (Tales of Yanqui Power), I Believe in You, Every Grain of Sand, far superior songs that he wrote later in life? What about Man in Black, Crying in the Chapel, I Saw the Light? Christianity has also brought out some of the best of our most respected artists. I can understand your point of view if you are 20, I felt very much the same way. But if you are in your 30s or 40s, I can only feel sorry for your limited perspective.

Wanted to let you know that this is the mix of choice this season around here. Fantastic. I keep finding myself singing, "...So shut up and eat your angel food..." to sleep at night. Cheers, friend.
